8th World Congress of Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy
In October 2026, colleagues and friends from all over the world will come together once again for the 8th World Congress of Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy — a week of shared learning, reflection, and meaningful connection on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro.
Hosted by the World Association for Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy (WAPP) in collaboration with Artion Conferences & Events (Greece), the Congress will take place on 11–16 October 2026 at the 5***** Splendid Conference & Spa Hotel in Budva.
This long-awaited gathering will bring together around 300–400 participants from more than 25 countries, including psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors, consultants, students, and all those inspired by the principles of Positive and Transcultural Psychotherapy.
Main Theme: Healing Across Cultures – Positive Mental Health in a Complex World
The theme of the Congress calls us to explore healing not only as recovery, but as a process of understanding, connecting, and transforming — within ourselves, in our relationships, and across cultures. In a world marked by rapid change and uncertainty, we are invited to look at mental health through a positive, psychodynamic, and transcultural lens — discovering meaning in diversity and recognizing that every encounter holds a chance for growth.
Through scientific presentations, experiential workshops, and creative dialogue, the Congress will offer a space to learn from one another, to listen, and to co-create new ways of understanding what it means to heal and to help.
What to Expect:
- Four days of scientific and experiential sessions
- Over 100 presentations, symposia, and workshops
- Humanistic, psychodynamic, and transcultural perspectives
- International keynote speakers and panels
- A vibrant and inclusive international community
- A 5-star seaside venue ideal for rest, learning, and connection
After the Congress, participants will also have the opportunity to stay for some extra time to join an organized excursion, or simply to enjoy more time by the sea — relaxing with family, friends, and colleagues in the beautiful surroundings of the Montenegrin coast.
Language
The official language of the Congress is English.
WAPP will provide simultaneous translation from English during the plenary sessions and selected workshops. At this stage (December 2025), interpretation into the following languages has been confirmed: Bulgarian, Chinese, Russian and Ukrainian.
Additional languages may be added if more than 30 registered participants come from a specific country or language group. WAPP will make every effort to arrange interpretation into that language, taking into account the technical and organizational possibilities of the venue and program.
Stay tuned for updates on keynote speakers, program highlights, and practical details.
Let’s meet again to share ideas, warmth, and wisdom — and continue walking the road of healing, together across cultures.
